Thank
you. We look forward to seeing you for this class!
Class Format-
The teaching is based on the complete program as taught at
ITM in Chiang Mai by its master, Chongkol
Setthakorn. Class
begins with the traditional Om Namo prayer and ringing of the bells.
Classes are devoted to clear, thorough demonstrations of the movements, with time for
discussion and questions, supervised practice, and interspersed with students being led step-by-step through each
series of movements.
Be prepared to work and be worked on. Dress in loose, comfortable clothing and have clean
feet. Try not to arrive hurried and harried, but allow enough time to slip into the
timed-timelessness that this work involves. Eat lightly before class, as many of the
movements involve compression of the abdominal area. Try to be well-rested and alert and
receptive.
Past experience has shown that
student's get much more out of class if they receive at least one
Thai massage beforehand. Arrange this individually with the
instructor well before class (two weeks notice is recommended as
Rose's available time is limited). Sessions can be with the
instructor or another experienced therapist.
Each class includes written material, and the text "Nuad Bo-Rarn, the Traditional
Massage of Thailand" by Arthur Lambert and Chongkol Setthakorn is included as part of
Thai I-Basic or the Intensive class.
About your instructor-

instructor at ITM-USA. She has been practicing and teaching Thai Massage since 1994, when
she completed an intensive study program with the Thai Master Chongkol Setthakorn at ITM

Training by ITM in Chiang Mai and the USA. She spent over three years assisting the

Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB), is a member of the American Massage
Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Florida State Massage Therapy Association (FSMTA), and
is a Florida Licensed Massage Therapist (MA #0016006). She moved the
main office of ITM to southern New Jersey in 2002, and continues to
travel to Florida and around the country to train Thai therapists.
Classes are approved by the Florida Department of
Health, Board of Massage, for continuing education credits (CEs) for massage therapists
(# MCE-213), and by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic
Massage and
Bodywork as a Category A Provider (# 152830). ITM is also an
